Description
The Acer XV HT irons are built for one thing above all: getting the ball in the air. The sole is nearly 30% wider than the standard XV and the face sits a little shallower, which means the club slides along the turf instead of digging in and launches shots high even when you catch them a touch thin or sweep them off the ground rather than hitting down.
A deep undercut cavity spreads weight out to the edges of the head for serious forgiveness, and there's plenty of offset to help the face square up so shots start on line more often. The lofts here are traditional rather than the stronger ones you'll find on distance irons, and that's on purpose โ it's what lets these come down soft and actually hold a green instead of running through the back.
If the long irons still give you trouble, swap them for matching hybrids when you configure your build. The XV HT is made for beginners, slower swingers, and anyone who's tired of watching good contact come out low and short.
